Did you grow up thinking braces were for kids, and the opportunity passed you by if you didn't have your teeth straightened in childhood?
Many of us thought that the only solution for crooked teeth was enduring years of uncomfortable treatment and suffering with traditional brackets and wires. In fact, you may have learned to conceal your smile so no one would see your crooked teeth. But now, with Invisalign treatment, you can have the beautiful smile you've always wanted quickly and comfortably without enduring the embarrassment of wearing braces as an adult.
At Train Station Dental, our dentists provide comprehensive orthodontic treatment, including traditional braces and Invisalign in Audobon, NJ.
Invisalign Clear Braces
Invisalign clear braces are a short-term orthodontic treatment that has changed the way we address the problem of misaligned teeth. Clear, customized aligners comfortably correct mild to moderate alignment issues by gently nudging your teeth into the desired position. In addition, Invisalign aligners are clear and virtually invisible.
The first step is to sit down with Dr. John Savon or Dr. Sara Engleman, certified Invisalign providers in Collingswood. They will talk to you about your concerns to determine what changes you would like to make and how we can help you achieve your goal.
Dr. Savon and Dr. Engleman use 3-D imaging software to develop your treatment plan, and several sets of aligners are customized to move your teeth into the prescribed position sequentially. Wear each set for about two weeks, and every time you switch to the next set of aligners, you will be able to see progress in action.
There are several benefits to treatment with Invisalign:
- Fewer visits are needed to check in with your dentist.
- Smooth plastic aligners eliminate irritation.
- Aligners are removable, so it's easy to eat, brush, and floss your teeth.
- Virtually invisible aligner trays don't detract from your appearance.
Every case is different and we base treatment times on the severity of misalignment, but you can typically achieve your desired results in about 12 to 15 months for adults. For teens, the length of treatment is comparable to that of traditional braces.
Dr. John Savon is also experienced in providing traditional bracket-and-wire orthodontic treatment for children and adults who are not candidates for Invisalign.
Even today's traditional braces have vastly improved over the years. Today we can customize brackets and wires to blend beautifully with your adult smile. For kids, there are virtually unlimited options for customizing the color of brackets, wires, and bands to make their treatment more fun.
As your child's dentist, Dr. Savon will be able to monitor the movement of their teeth as they develop. Ideally, we need to evaluate by about age seven to determine if we should plan for orthodontic treatment.
